| THANKSGIVING DINNER - CENA DE ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS |
This week in Primero we talked about
Thanksgiving. Erica explain to us that as an American, this
holiday is an important time for family, gratitude, and food. We learned about the Pilgrims who arrived in
America from England and the Indians who helped them to plant crops. When the harvest came in, the Pilgrims and
Indians had a large feast to celebrate their success and to give thanks for all
they had.Today, a typical Thanksgiving
dinner includes turkey, stuffing, squash, and pumpkin pie. We remember all of the blessings we have in
our life.
En clase realizamos una exposición acerca de la fiesta más familiar de los Estados Unidos. Los alumnos y alumnas de 1º han aprendido y practicado el vocabulario más típico y sabroso de esta celebración: turkey (pavo), pumpkin pie (pastel de calabaza), stuffing (relleno del pavo), etc. Igualmente se les explicó el origen de la fiesta así como las actividades que se llevan a cabo durante la misma. Aprendieron que en este día se da las gracias (Thanksgiving) por todas las bendiciones (blessings) de las que disfrutamos en nuestra vida.
